The Fruit Trees listed below are bare rooted, have been chosen and grafted, by an expert that lives within the Moutere Valley, for their resilience to diseases and should need very little or no spraying to produce healthy wholesome fruit.

Apples:- Melinova Holovouske, Mere de Menage, Ellisons Orange, Brownlees Russet and Lord Lambourne (see below for more details).

PEARS.

  • Soldat Laboureur:- A Spindle Tree, meaning that it can be used to make one central tree (as per orchards), is a Hardy Variety with a yellow skin, is scab resistant, juicy and with a delicately perfumed flesh, (Currently not Available).

  • Carlas Foundling:. A Crispy Green Pear which keeps well when picked early and ripens to a lovely mild flavoured pear with a grainy textures flesh which becomes smoother as it ripens. Great for preserving.

  • Harveys Purple:- This is a crispy pear with purple skin when picked early. It ripens to be a mild flavoured soft pear that keeps well. Great for preserving.

  • Conference:- The pear has a longer shape, with a yellow skin and russet markings. Its flesh is grainy, sweet and juicy. It cooks and eats well.

  • Glou Morceau:- The pear medium to large of a short and fat form. It is a heavy cropper with a yellow/green colour plus a little russet. The texture is fine, melting in the mouth and juicy.

  • Josephine de Malines:- This is a winter pear, with a heavy crop of small green/yellow fruit with dark red flush. Sweet and juicy, originates from Belgium (Currently not available).

APPLES.

Melinova Holovouske:- Red apple with light green in places. Originally from the Czech Republic. Apples have a raspberry flavour. Currently not available.

Mere de Menage:- Dark red apple with copper russeted areas. Produces a large apple that is crisp, juicy and lightly sweet. Ripens in March.

Ellisons Orange:- A crispy and juicy apple with an aniseed flavour. Is a red apple with green and yellow lines. A traditional English dessert apple.

Brownlees Russet:- The apple is green/brown and dull in color but with a very intense fruity flavour. Apples are firm, juicy and crispy. Great for eating and cooking. Keeps well.

Lord Lambourne:- A green with red and orange blushes and is mildly russeted. Has a crisp and tangy flesh. Great for eating and juicing.

PLUMS.

Kelling Road:- This is a plum taken (with the owners permission) from a plant on Kellings Road. The only thing that we know is that the owner says that the fruit is delicious. The plant is also disease resistant.

Anu:- Produces a large purple plum, round and juicy. Has reddish flesh.

Aporo Park:- Oval dark purple plum.

Italian Prune:- Dark purple skin with yellow flesh which turns red when cooked. Ripens in March.

PEACH.

Golden Queen:- This is an excellent eater and can also be used for bottling and/or cooking. It has orange flesh and bright orange/yellow skin. This plant is also often used as a root stock.
